Penis band

What a penis band is all about

The first penile band entered the US market about 10 years ago. It is actually a rubber band that is applied to the base of the penis.

It is important to note that the band is put in front of the scrotum and not behind it.

Otherwise the scrotum will be relocated more in front of the body which can lead to injuries during intercourse when the ball sack hits the vagina.

How penis bands work

The band restricts blood flow by constricting the veins that lead out of the penis. This means blood can still enter the penis through the arteries but it can no longer exit the penis – at least not at easy as it could without the penile band.

For this reason the penis band is most often used by people that have a problem with venous leakage. Sufferers are not able to keep an erection that enables them to have intercourse with their partner their erection subsides during intercourse prior to ejaculation.

Causes for the Venous Leakage can be either psychological or due to health issues.

Examples of psychological issues are stress, depression or performance anxiety.

Examples of health issues are diabetes or general poor blood circulation due to smoking or overweight.

Do penis bands cure premature ejaculation?

The short answer to this question is probably no. Premature ejaculation is most often caused by oversensitivity. A penile band does not decrease sensitivity.

However in case the premature ejaculation is due to insecurity regarding the size of the penis  the band might actually be of help. Due to the blood restriction the penis gets actually bigger or more precise swollen. This swelling can improve the self confidence of the wearer and might help him with his PE issue.

Is a penle band safe to use?

Users might ask whether a penis band is safe to use. The function of blood is to bring fresh oxygen to the tissues. If the tissues are cut off from the oxygen supply it results in tissue death.

Tissue death can start to set in as soon as about 20 minutes after the oxygen supply is cut of.

Luckily this fact is not important for the user of a penis band. The penile band does not constrict the blood from flowing into the penis and therefore the oxygen supply is not a big problem.

It only restricts the blood from flowing out of the penis. Obviously the penis does not have an unlimited capability of storing blood so the oxygen supply will be restricted but only with prolonged usage.

Before you start to worry keep in mind that cell death has never been reported from the use of a penile band. As long as you keep the duration to a reasonable amount you will be on the safe side.

All good bands are designed in a way that they can quickly be release so in case you feel any tingling sensation in your penis due to oxygen deprivation or if your penis starts during blue you should immediately open up the band and let fresh blood and oxygen flow into it.

Is a penile band covert?

A penis band is clearly visible and pretty much impossible to hide. It thus does not lend itself for covert usage.
